F_M'ers -
For those of you who may have heard of Richard Shindell and Peter Mulvey but
may not know their music, we're making a special sampler available... $3
(includes postage) buys you "3x2", a six song sampler of three songs by Peter
Mulvey and three by Richard Shindell. Two of the Shindell songs, "Transit"
and "Abuelita" are from his new album SOMEWHERE NEAR PATERSON, which hits the
stores February 8. The third is a previously unreleased stunning solo
guitar-and-vocal version of "Beyond The Iron Gate" (originally on REUNION
HILL). The Mulvey songs are "Check Me Out (hey hey hey)" and "The Trouble
With Poets", both from his new THE TROUBLE WITH POETS album, due in April,
and a solo version of "On The Way Up," a song from his first album, RAPTURE.
For $3 you get the sampler, plus coupons (good for mail-order from Signature)
for $3 off both PATERSON and POETS. Send a $3 check:
"3x2" Sampler,
c/o Young/Hunter Management,
350 Mass. Ave #230,
Arlington, MA 02474.
FYI, PATERSON, Shindell's first album under his new co-operative record deal
with Signature Sounds/RSR (Richard Shindell Recordings) and Young/Hunter has
been picked up by Starbucks for featured positioning in 700 of their stores
during February and March. Over 13,500 copies of the record are being shiped
to retail nationwide, and Richard will be featured on "CBS Saturday Morning,"
Feb. 12. BTW, Richard will be making one appearance at Folk Alliance, at the
Signature showcase at 12:15 am Friday night (well, very early Saturday if you
want to get persnickety about it) at the Rockefeller Room. Peter will also be
on that showcase, as well as lots of other Signature artists. PATERSON also
debuted on the Gavin A3 non-com chart at #27 this week (and tied with The
Cure, of all people) for most "adds" at radio.
