Saturday, March 11, 8 p.m.
Moore Music (In the House) double feature
with Darryl Purpose and Y'all
Rockville, MD

Darryl Purpose (http://www.darrylpurpose.com), from Los Angeles by way
of Boston, is a fingerstyle guitar player with three CDs of engaging
story songs and a Sweet Baby James voice. The fact that these gentle
sounds are coming from a burly former professional blackjack player --
once top-ranked in the world -- makes his shows all the more
interesting. For a musical snippet of his duet with Lucy Kaplansky:

Y'all (http://www.luckygreendress.com) is a duo from Nashville -- James
Dean Jay Byrd from Okey Dokey, Texas, and Steven Cheslik-DeMeyer from
Kornflake, Indiana -- that is creating a "new fashion in old-time
entertainment." Okay, so Jay Byrd wears a lucky green dress on stage.
And besides the antics and funny bits -- songs such as "Christmastime in
the Trailerpark" and "My Mama Likes the Feel of Cottage Cheese" got them
featured on Comedy Central -- the pair demonstrate mastery of several
instruments. Oh, yeah, and kazoos.

We'll kick off the festivities (and open the doors) at 7:30; music
starts at 8. Light refreshments provided. Suggested donation for the
performers is $10.

Reservations required. So, gather friends and family and join the house
concert revolution.
