I would love to invite you to attend the Andrew Calhoun performance at the Bowles Music Palace House Concert series in Terre Haute, IN., on Saturday, April 1 (no foolin'), but this is my second-in-a-row sold-out concert! All 50 spaces were gobbled up four days after the invitations went out! Folk music DOES thrive in western Indiana !
Andrew is founder of the Waterbug label and an acclaimed singer-songwriter, poet, and guitarist based in Evanston, IL. Hugh Blumenfeld, a favorite of the Bowles Music Palace, has said about Andrew: "He writes in the tradition of songwriters like Pierce Pettis and Leonard Cohen and poets like Emily Dickinson and Edna St. Vincent Millay whose sense of humor is underrated because their suffering and faith are so great. The characters in Andrew's songs wrestle in the dark and , no, they don't always win. But their ongoing struggles reveal all that is most noble in them--and us."
Andrew's latest cd is Where Blue Meets Blue (1999).
