I wanted to share the recently-released list of Top Twenty songwriter 
competition finalists for our South Florida Folk Festival, the 10th Annual 
coming up January 13 and 14, 2001 - quite a line-up, eh?  :-)

These talented singer-songwriters will not only perform their two-song 
entries on the Main Stage Saturday (being judged for best upbeat song, best 
mellow song, and best overall), but they will also participate in 
in-the-rounds with other entrants on the smaller stages Sunday - results of 
the competition are announced late Sunday afternoon, with the winners being 
asked to return the following year for mainstage slots (in addition to other 
prizes).  

The festival kicks off Friday night, however, as my job entails placing two 
finalists, along with a local artist, in *each* of the ten Borders in the 
tri-county (Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach) area - what fun!
