Please join Live At Roxy's for a very special Homegrown House Concert
Saturday January 19, 2002
Featuring:
Washington's Own "LITTLE PINK", WITH SPECIAL GUEST The CAREY COLVIN
duo.
Two Bands!! Same low price--$15.00 donation (all of which, as usual,
goes to the artists.)
Little Pink's debut album "Cul De Sac Cowgirl" has won high praise from
the national and local music press. As one review put it:
"Singer/songwriter Mary Battiata is at the center of Little Pink. Her
wistful vocals blends nicely with the band's country-flavored folk rock
sound. The darkly alluring acoustic ballad "Shadow" and the punchy
rocker "Cry All Night" number among the disc's standouts. The group
features members of [standout bands] Last Train Home and The
Graverobbers. "
Little Pink has wowed audiences at IOTA and the Birchmere. Come hear
them in the comfort of ROXY's living room!
Carey Colvin debut album "The Distance Wall" won debut-album of the
year at the Washington Area Music Awards ("WAMMIES") and likewise has
earned stellar reviews around the country.
Here's what the The Washington Post had to say:

Singer-songwriter Carey Colvin is nominated for four Wammie awards
this year, which is perhaps reason enough to check out her debut CD,
"The Distance Wall." Those who do will find it well worth their time,
since Colvin has fashioned a series of thoughtful, tuneful songs that
invite repeat spins.
Carey recently opened for David Crosby's band CPR at a sold -out
Birchmere. Come hear why Carey has been a long admired fixture on The
East Coast music circuit.
