Chris Smither - it's true; every year or so you stumble upon someone who
somehow, in some bizarro lapse of consciousness you have overlooked.
Ten years ago, for me, it was Nanci Griffith, then Robert Earl Keen, and
last year it was Chris Smither.  How do these people escape your notice
for so long - then suddenly... wham!  One good thing about it, you don't
have to sit around waiting for the 'next great thing,' just   Poke
around some playlists, buy a CD unheard, buy a compilation/tribute
album.    So much music, so little time...
